Biography:

Dr Leena Zhou is a specialist skin cancer General Practitioner and is fully accredited with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA).

She graduated from Monash University (VIC) in 2012. She initially trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Health, whilst researching hip reconstructive options for children and adolescents with cerebral palsy at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

She evolved into General Practice after realising her passion to integrate medicine with community, and provide holistic care using western & eastern philosophies. Her natural affinity for surgery and perfectionist tendencies towards attaining the highest standard of care & cosmesis inevitably led Leena into subspecialty of skin cancer medicine, surgery, and cosmetic injectables (dysport).

She is still using her surgical skills to benefit patients with musculoskeletal conditions, and is performing ultrasound guided corticosteroid & platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections with specialist input.

Outside of work, Leena is a yoga teacher and runs a medical outreach for Namotu Island in Fiji. She enjoys surfing, hiking, and creating objects on the pottery wheel.
